Scrap my Photo…
A little while ago, before I resigned from the team, Twiddleybitz held a “Scrap my Photo” competition where you could submit a photo to be scrapped by a member of the design team. My winner was Jenny Thomas who sent me a lovely photo of her beautiful children enjoying the summer in the pool. Here’s the layout I created for her:
I used glittery papers from My Minds Eye, flowers from Prima and some Twiddleybitz of course!
I have another layout I’ve done but am just waiting to hear if/when I can share that.
Righto ArtLab is in the filming and writing up stages and starts at the end of April, if you haven’t already registered (for the amazingly low price of only NZ$40 for 8 weeks worth of workshops) then you need to. I’ll be teaching you everything I do to create my mixed media portraits and even if you don’t want to create your own canvas, the product knowledge and technique ideas you’ll get from it makes it a must for scrappers too. You can register for it over at my heartistry store and feel free to ask any questions you may have about it too.
The Indulgence Retreat is also in full-on mode… September will be here before we know it and this one’s gonna be a bit special. Apart from the fact we have the amazing Janine Koczwara to dazzle us with her brilliance, we also have some really cool surprises planned for attendees… make sure you’ve registered and confirmed by paying your deposit please, we have only a couple of places still available and you don’t want to miss out!
Righto… got something else really exciting coming up in November and again early next year so stay tuned!!

Patience revisited
I wasn’t happy with her face before but I am now… she’s a sweet, green eyed little fairy princess and she’s looking for a home – currently available in my etsy store.

Coming up for air…
Wowser it’s gotten busy of late… I’ve had deadlines all over and thankfully am back on top of it all… for now anyway!! lol
I’ve made a few changes of late, one of which being that I’ve left the Twiddleybitz Design Team. I love the people, the products and the team is one of the most supportive I’ve ever been lucky to be a part of, but I felt it was just time to move on. My style of work is changing all the time and while I still adore chipboard, I don’t use it as much as I used to.
Also remember the Book of Days thing I was doing? I love art journalling and am going to continue it as time allows but am no longer following this group… it’s a shame but drama surrounds it and that’s not condusive to creating as far as I’m concerned. Anyhooo…
Soooooo what am I gonna do now?
Well first up I’ve landed a very cool guest DT spot with the fabulous Ten Second Studio. They do the most AMAZING range of paints, metals and cool embellishing tools and I’m lucky enough to get to play with the paints for my posting in June. Keep an eye out as I have sooo many ideas on what I’m going to create.
I’ve also been taping my ArtLab…
This starts at the end of April (details are in the tab at the top) and we’ve got good numbers joining us for 8 weeks of FUN! Make sure you head over to my Heartistry store to register for this one.
Later in the year I have a couple more awesome things planned so stay tuned there too!!
Speaking of coming up later in the year, September is our Indulgence Retreat
(again details are in the link at the top of the blog) and we have only a few places still available. If you’ve said you’re looking to come but haven’t as yet registered and paid your deposit, you need to or you WILL MISS OUT. I’m capping numbers so we have plenty of room to create so don’t leave it too late.
And still there’s more (told ya I’d been busy!)… I’ve been working on a number of new paintings that I’ll share when they’re finished and have some new pan pastels winging their way to me now… can’t wait! Also my long awaited studio is finally built… well almost. The outside is done and we’re just awaiting council sign off then we can get the inside done. I’m sooooo excited to no longer have to scrap in a corner of my lounge or have our dining room taken up with computers and work stuff. It’s been a long time coming I can tell you!!
I’ll be culling some scrapbooking stuff shortly and listing it on trademe as well, I have soooo much stuff and really need to downsize a bit so I don’t end up filling up every inch of my new studio… oh and did you see this?
I swear I’m never going to leave that room. I want my studio to be a creative place where I can also just snuggle up and absorb inspiration from my book collection (or escape from the kids occasionally!). It’s sooo comfy, now all I need are walls… lol
Righto… back to it, lots of little jobs to get out of the way today so I can maybe skive off to the craft show that’s on tomorrow…
